Our story
The meeting that was meant to be
Daothé · Yunnan, China
"Pu'er runs in my blood…"
Qiao · tea master, thirty years of craft

The house
Rooted in the mountains of Yunnan
Daothé is rooted in the tea mountains of Yunnan, in the far southwest of China. Qiao has been making tea there for thirty years: by hand, following traditional methods, she presses each cake herself on a stone mill, an ancestral art handed down for more than a thousand years.
"Pu'er runs in my blood…" Her passion is striking.
The meeting
Fifteen years ago, I met her in China. Her passion for tea and health, combined with my training in traditional Chinese medicine, led us toward a single goal: to make the finest Pu'er there is.

The trees
The "old immortals"
Some of the tea trees we choose are several centuries old. They grow above 1,800 metres, vigorous, budding faithfully each season: among tea trees, we call them the "old immortals."

The craft
Worked the old way
We work these exceptional leaves the old way: fixed by hand in great woks heated over a wood fire, then rolled. A craft now listed as intangible cultural heritage.
